The Arcadian Centre

Off Pershore Street is one of the impressive entrances into the Arcadian Centre, which is the very heart of Birmingham’s Chinese Quarter. Purpose built in the 1990’s, the Arcadian is multi-tiered, multi-cultural and multi-purpose, there are few venues to rival The Arcadian for atmosphere. The unique architecture houses a social central piazza surrounded by a wide selection of restaurants, some of the best bars the city has to offer, top comedians, shops, beauty treatments and more. This unique arrangement makes restaurant and bar patrons a very active part of the best night in Birmingham.

At the time of writing the Arcadian has ten restaurants serving some of the finest global cuisines, seven bars boasting atmospheres ranging from the casual to the glamorous, two coffee shops, two hotels a comedy club and fifteen other outlets.

Each Chinese New Year the Arcadian stage a spectacular celebration, featuring the iconic Dragon and Lion dance. It is believed that the loud beats of the drum and the deafening sounds of the cymbals together with the face of the Dragon or Lion dancing aggressively can evict bad or evil spirits. Throughout the year there are also many Chinese or other themed performances held in the central piazza.
